I need to get back on the horse!

One thing that sucks about being the vocalist is that when everyone else is jammin'...

you're stuck staring at your feet waiting for practice to begin. :(

So in between practice, jammin', trying to get the printer to work, and chillin' out, Andy got a hold of my camera...
Self-portrait. He truly is Franklin the turtle.

Aha! Proof that I was there.

mic check

I had the privilege of serving on a praise team for a youth retreat. With the chaos of the holidays, we didn't have much chance to practice too much. During the retreat itself, we spent lots of time sound checking... So in between all the singing and playing, we sound checked (and waited). With really no instrument to check, I just snapped a few shots.

Mike's foot (and all those pedals) for his electric guitar and violin.

torrey pines for christmas

My family went down to San Diego for Christmas. We took a hike down at Torrey Pines, where we stopped by the shore for the great view and skipping stones.

This is my second cousin, Kathy. She's quite a character ;)

The sis and me during our hike.

clumsy

I dropped my eye shadow. Yes, the one I bought in vegas. Yes, the one I can't stop talking about.

After patting it down and trying to salvage as much as I can...

Oh, it's never going to be the same. :(

a belated celebration

for a post-finals birthday celebration, my thoughtful girlfriends took me to eat donut man, watch the light show at Griffith Park, planned to ice skate at LA's Pershing Square (but the rain got in the way!), eat MEAT at Barn Burner, and then prance around Old Town Pasadena. It was a wet but fun night!

Looks cool at first, but then wait a minute... Something's off.

something's missing

Music - check. PhD pencil - check. Tons of scratch paper - check.

Coffee - Check. It's what's getting me through the night.

Something's missing. But I don't know what it is ;) Haha.

One of the men in my life. ;) Or boys. Hmm...

hangin' around

As I was doing laundry, I came upon this fella.

glorious

I know ya'll are sick of the leaves posts, but I can't help enjoying the beautiful trees on campus. These are two of my many favorite colors - green and orange!

sadness

One of the things I love about Claremont is the fact that they've planted all these trees everywhere (the city's motto is "Claremont, the city of trees and PhD's"). It's wonderful in the fall when all these trees are changing colors. I love walking to class and crunching on all those leaves. I've realized that I'm going to have to live in a place with a lot of trees and where the leaves actually change colors!

But the sad thing is that fall, my favorite season, is coming to an end. All the trees are shedding their leaves and soon I'll be left with a campus full of brittle silhouettes of what once were glorious leaves.

dusk

I was walking out of lab today and the sun was just about to set. I loved the shapes of the leaves on this tree.

the Yoo women

eating fro-yo outside in the cold at RSM.

what's wrong

I love earrings. I don't have too many, but I love the way they add character to an outfit.

What's wrong with this picture?

Maybe this one will help you see what's wrong.

Turkeybowl 2007!

My camera definitely can't take action shots... So I resort to snapping away during stretches and huddles.

Stretching before the game. Notice how the arms get progressively higher, right to left (Yun, you call that a stretch?).

Serious game faces during a captain's pep talk.

We're gonna be number one.

Disgust upon our losses. Nevertheless, the men played hard.

Thanksgiving lunch

What started off as play-fighting ended in tears...

But the two made-up as they showed off their protruding stomachs after lunch.

Thanksgiving eve

While at my church's community group for our potluck dinner, my pastor's son Joshua decided to pose for me in front of the tree.

There's nothing more satisfying than eating late-night ramen.

Outside of the theatre with Julia.

Replica

Someday, I'll see the real thing.

gluttony

Bellagio buffet's desserts. Although I picked all of them up for this crafted picture, I didn't eat them all! I promise ;). Instead, we shared them, dim sum style.

What was left after 5 sweet-toothed girls and 2 men. Haha.

I held a dinner at my friend Vinita's place. Of course, what meal is complete without wine?

Snapped this while offering Julia some water during our midday hike.

stress break

In between thesis work, job interviews, internships, fellowship apps, and taking care of other "future" business, it can get pretty overwhelming these days. It's on such days that I gather the girlfriends for a few hours of wine, cheese & crackers, and bon-bons.
We know the glass is half-full (at least at this point of our lives).

Goodies.
